What is Celiac Disease?

Celiac disease is a condition that damages the lining of the small intestine and prevents absorption of the nutrients needed to stay healthy. The damage is due to a reaction when eating gluten, which is found in wheat, barley, rye, and possibly oats (if not prepared in a COMPLETELY gluten-free environment). If you suspect you might have it, you should contact your doctor. A simple blood test is used for verificaton.

Vitamin D and Celiac Disease:

Read more of our Dr. Zora 's article and the importance of Vitamin D supplements.
